I HAVE TWO!!!
- The new latex mattress – less joint pain upon awakening.
- New connections that feel like old connections, but were not yet consciously known.
I HAVE TWO!!!
Hey guys! I’m excited for the solar eclipse on the 21st! I didn’t remember to buy the glasses, though. The ones that are left are outrageously priced. We were only looking for the NASA certified ones. (There’s a list from NASA of certified vendors online and brick-and-mortar.) The only place that still has them? TOYS-R-US!! That’s right! They fit everyone 8 years and up. And they were only $2.50 apiece! *bonus* If you’re looking call your local Toys-R-Us!
7th – for the migraine being gone
8th – for a clear sunny day
9th – for Ringo the cat liking his prescription kidney care food (he was diagnosed with renal insufficiency) and for improvement in his constipation
For an attentive husband while I cocooned myself in a dark room succumbing to a migraine. ❤
Ground rules: The gratitude project is one post per day about something for which you are truly grateful and it runs from Lammas to Mabon. It can be a big or little gratitude, but no repeats – you can be grateful for your spouse/kids/job/friends, but the reason for the gratitude needs to be different for each entry. This project was started by
estaratshirai . I have been doing it since its inception in 2004.
So! I’ve already screwed the one post per day thing! I considered doing this as a weekly roundup project this year, but that removes the value of it by a factor of 7.
I will catch up now, and try to do daily from here on out.

Honey bees, the ones who have doing community correctly down pat. They all have their jobs, they all do their jobs, and in so doing they support each other and the community. They care for and feed their queen. The queen is the center of the community and with care and food this center supports, maintains, and allows the hive to expand. This system also produces more queens! Whatever is at the center of community is fed and cared for so it will remain viable and useful. What would you like to be the center of Reclaiming Pittsburgh? How can we feed our community so it grows and thrives?
Join us for “Back to the Hive: Reclaiming Pittsburgh Community Meeting” on Saturday, October 21st, 2017, 1 PM – 5 PM, at 2011 Noble St, Pittsburgh, PA, 15218-2100.
It’s been awhile. The climb has been steep and slippery. I feel more myself than I have since February. Part of this returning I credit to Spiralheart Witchcamp from where I’ve just returned. I had a grand time! I got to play, and play with energy. I received tenderness from all around in such an overwhelmingly good way that my skin is still sweet with it. ………………. Reblog. Ah, community, so often the ass you claim to loathe.
This was originally going to be a bullet-pointed ‘here’s how things are going at our place’ list, with shrine photos and Corbie photos and nice, relaxing, “this is what I love about life right now.”
But instead, it’s going to be rant. An angry rant. A “Jolene should know better than to rant while angry” rant. And I should. I should. But it’s rare for me to be angry these days, to this degree. I go forward with the assumption that people by and large mean the best, because it makes me more able to be a kind and compassionate person. It makes my world better. It makes me happier. At the very least, I go forward with the assumption that the people that are in my life, in spaces that are not so public, mean the best, and at worse are thoughtless, but never malicious or intentionally unkind. Those…

I’m not up for details of the complicated nature of our relationship at this point, but my brother Scott was dead within a week of being told he had stage IV cancer. (DOD: March 3rd, 2017) He lived in CA. His remains were donated to research, then he was cremated and the ashes shipped to Chicago where my sister lives. We rendezvoused there and held a service this past Saturday. I returned yesterday with him.
Welcome home, Scott.
